This luggage of the past reminds of how people used to travel through the port of Genoa, during the great immigration towards South and North America.
Many of the travelers ended their journey before even leaving the port of Genoa. Some where so fascinated by this town, that they felt no need to go any further. An example for all is the Swiss Immigrant Klainguti, who did not have enough cash to pay the ticket. His shop is since 1828 one of Genoa's most know patissor and is located just around the corner from the apartment. |
